30 years ago today

WOW. It only seems like yesterday. 30 years ago today in a little church in the Sandfields Swansea I shot my first wedding. Having studied photography in Tycoch College Swansea & then Blackpool & Fylde College, in July 1986 I started work in Gower Colourlab Gowerton where I worked for 18 years. We were the only pro lab in the area. We processed & printed films for around 30+ wedding photographers so I started getting tips & Ideas by talking to them or working as an assistant. The following year a friend of mine asked me if I would like to photograph is cousins wedding & that was the start of it. Since then I have also worked at Cottage Photography & Creative Images both in Morrriston as well as Colliers Uplands running a lab & shooting weddings until finally working for myself as a full time wedding, portrait & events photographer from home in Sketty. There has been a lot of change in wedding photography since I started all those years ago.Back then, I could shoot a wedding in about 2-3 hours & take the films for printing before giving then to the client where as now I can be at a wedding for 12 hours or more, then spend another couple of days editing them or designing the album.
How times have changed.
But I still love it !
